As Christians we have two prime directives.
1) Love God
2) Love others
The way to do that is to do onto others as you would have them do unto you. Matthew 7:12
1) You must have availability. The characteristic of your life is availability. If you want God to use you get busy. Most Christians are too busy about
“stuff” or “things” than to be busy for God.
2) Compassion. If you don’t have compassion you won’t be available.
3) Dominion. If you do not get the spirit of Dominion you will remain ineffective.
2 Timothy 1:7, power, love, sound or disciplined mind. Self-discipline makes you unbeatable. Nothing changes until you do. Accept responsibility for your fellow man. Make a decision. Until you make a decision nothing happens. Decide to obey the Bible not some feeling. Usually if there is something lacking it is the sense of Dominion. You must have that.
There are no secrets. There is only information that you don’t know or decisions that you have not made. There is only truth and your obedience or disobedience to the truth. The reason people are not obeying is they don’t have faith in themselves which is really faith in God.
I) Dominion
A) We all should know why man was created. Genesis 1:26-28; Psalm 8:4-8.
B) We all should know why Jesus came. 1 John 3:8.
C) We all should know our domain or where we are to have dominion or enforce Jesus victory.
Psalm 115:16 “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth has He given to the children of men. Matthew 6:10. “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
Most Christians have a passive, delegated idea of Dominion. How do I know? Because there is not or has not been a development of aggressiveness towards sin, sickness, and religion. Christians are not fed up enough. We need to get fed up with the present status quo and don’t take long doing it.
Matthew 10:1,7-8. This is Jesus’ assessment and solution to the world’s situation.
v1 And when he called on to his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
v7 And as you go preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand
v8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils. Freely you have received, freely give.
This is delegated authority or Dominion. Verse five and six only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Not the Gentiles or Samaritans. Their commission was limited ours is not.
Now – Mathew 28: 18-20.
Now – Mark 16:17-18.
Then – Luke 10:19.
Now – John 14:12.
Now – Romans 8:15-17. “God did not give us the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have a received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Now – 2 Corinthians 2:14. “Now thanks to be unto God who always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus and makes manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.” Also see- Eph. 18: 18-22, 3:20; Col. 2:10, 14-15. James 4:7 w/1 Peter 5:8-9. Revelation 12:11.
God says you take my authority or Dominion and my ability or power and it will work for you. The moment you exercise the Dominion of God, God’s ability or power is released. It should be a desire for every Christian to obtain the same results Jesus obtained in his earthly ministry. If we are faithful to do His word, He is faithful to bring His word to pass. Matthew 18:18 “Verily I say to you, Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” When we bind or lose something all heaven’s power backs our authority to do it. Hell hears and obeys. A believer has authority to stop the devil in all of his works, and God Almighty supplies the power that enforces that authority. Believer’s are spiritual “policemen” on earth. We should be patrolling the earth forbidding anything that is against or contrary to the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 12:29 “How can one enter a strong man’s house and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? Then he will spoil his house.”
Who is the strong man? The devil. Who is stronger than him. Jesus. Has Jesus bound the strong man? 1 John 3:8. Now what? We go and enforce that!
Matthew11:12 “the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. Aggressiveness. The name of Jesus is given to the church. Jesus and his name are one. Can Jesus heal? Save?Deliver? So can his name.
We are commanded to go forth and by exercising authority manifest the power of God. Have we compromised our commission? Have we become passive or lax about it? We must get determined to do what God has called us to do. We should not accept anything less than total success in every endeavor. Absolutely refuse to be defeated. Satan should not be in control or “lording” over us. We cannot, we will not accept defeat. We will not compromise the Dominion of God.
